Proudly serving Passenger Coffee and Tea

 FAQs

  • Similar to the idea of a food stand or a food truck, our coffee bar will be a state-licensed mobile food facility that sells specialty coffee and tea beverages. Like an independent coffeeshop, our mobile facility brewing delicious beverages made from high-quality ingredients, but unlike a coffeeshop, we will not be doing so in a fixed location.

Rather, we will be setting up our coffee bar at public events like concerts or community gatherings, or at private events like weddings or parties.

  • Quite possibly! Drop us a line below and we’ll talk possibilities. Providing information like exact dates, number of attendees, and your vision for the event will be especially helpful.

For public events like fairs or concerts, we would be happy to set up and sell beverages like a normal mobile food facility.

For private events or in cases where beverages are served at no cost to attendees, a quote will be given based on factors like the venue and amount of coffee to be served.

Depending on the scale of the event, we would discuss whether “slow style” or “fast style” service is available.

  • Fast-style service refers to traditional coffee bar workflow and involves batch brewing large amounts of coffee. This is especially suitable for high-volume events with lots of traffic.

By contrast, slow style coffee is better served for small groups and involves hand-preparing much smaller amounts of coffee. Slow-style service emphasizes the art of brewing and adds a personal touch to the process of serving. This method also offers more flexibility when considering the varieties of coffee and brewing styles you'd like to have offered.

In real-world situations, these distinctions are often not clearly defined. When discussing the needs of your event, we will develop a plan that will provide the best experience possible for your guests.

  • No; this is a task we’d rather leave to the experts. We are beyond excited to partner with Passenger Coffee & Tea, based in Lancaster, PA. Having been ranked “Best Roaster in PA” multiple years in a row, they’re a world-class company with a reputation for seeking out excellent and memorable coffees and presenting them without imparting charred or burnt flavors. Their large menu of some of the world’s finest coffees and teas serves as the backbone of Uncloud Coffee.

  • In the specialty coffee industry today, there are many different styles of preparing coffee on all parts of the supply chain- from the way it’s grown and processed to how it is roasted and brewed. Our preferred methodology, however, are ones that result in clean, naturally sweet cups of coffee with interesting and complex flavor profiles.

If you’re unfamiliar with the so-called “modern” specialty coffee movement and with the coffee that it produces, you may be surprised by the wide range of unique flavors to be found in some of the coffees on our menu. We’re proud to serve all of the coffees we carry, and we believe we offer something delicious for every coffee enjoyer regardless of their preferences.

  • No. Any flavor you see on our menu is intended to be a descriptor of the natural tastes found in the product itself, not of something added by us or somebody else in the supply chain. They’re intended to guide our customers to coffees with the characteristics they prefer.

There is much speculation about what physical phenomenon makes coffee taste sweet, but our experience is that excellent coffee roasted and brewed well has a natural sweetness making for an enjoyable tasting experience. While some customers may still prefer to add sugar to their coffee, we’d suggest giving our coffees a sip before stirring in a packet- what you taste may surprise you!

  • Yes! Providing unique and memorable coffee experiences are critical components of our mission, and there is perhaps no better context for these experiences than events that involve comparatively tasting multiple coffees. We would be thrilled to collaborate on an event featuring a curated menu of delicious and interesting beverages that will delight and perhaps even astonish your guests.

  • “To see with eyes unclouded by hate” - Hayao Miyazaki

The root belief of our ethos is that human life is a pattern of beauty—>response, or theophany—>movement. However, in addition to hatred, there are many passions that cloud our eyes and our senses and cause to turn away from true Beauty.

An anecdote we recently heard described an experiment conducted by a college professor who had his students sit down in an empty room for one hour. Afterwards, the students were instructed to write down everything they perceived with their five senses during the one hour. One might speculate that the students would have described the ambient hum of fluorescent lights or noted the subtly dimpled texture of painted drywall- yet the students did not, and instead seemed unable to describe to physical world around them.

This anecdote, and others like it, seems to be symptomatic of a larger epidemic of “muted” relationships between individuals and the world around them. How tragic. In light of this, how beautiful is the cup of coffee, as an opportunity to taste and savor a delicious beverage, first formed by the miracle of life sprouted from the earth, and then harvested, processed, roasted, and brewed by a procession of humans in a long, diverse, and beautiful supply chain.

“Uncloud,” then, refers to our mission to create coffee (and similar) experiences for consumers who seek relief from the Machine that is constantly stimulating us and “clouding” our senses. “The opposite of war is not peace,” it’s liturgy; and the little liturgy we can offer is the communion of the gift of a simple, beautiful cup of coffee.

Equally true is another, much shorter, answer: “Uncloud” refers to a style of preparing coffee that emphasizes clarity of flavor in the final cup.

  • The answer, of course, depends on a number of factors. Feel free to reach out, and once we have acquired the necessary details, we will give you a quote.

Our goal is maintain affordability in a difficult economic climate while also respecting the costs appropriate to the fine coffees and teas we serve (you wouldn’t expect to serve fine wine at an event on a dime!)
